Installation

I Installed FSXWX following the instructions for FSX. Up to Step 5, everything seemed to be working ok. In Step 6 modifications to fsx.cfg are mentioned; I can't find that file anywhere. Or does the instruction mean that such a file has to be created?
I also tried to install the recommended textures Pablo Diaz HDE v2, but that caused the Flight Simulator to crash after the title screen, before the window opens. The textures seem to be for fs9. Aftter I reinstalled the original textures, Flight Simulator seems to be running ok again.

Hi Burney,

I had a hard time finding the fsx.cfg file also. I have Windows10 installed. It's in the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX
You can edit it with a text editor like notepad. Make sure when saving Notepad doesn't add a .txt extension - like fsx.cfg.txt.

I have the same issue with HDE v2 textures. Launching FSX shows the splash screen, but then it just closes.

Thanks,
Don.

I found another link to the HDE textures that explained the original textures were in 24 bit, but FSX needs 32bit. These have been updated to 32 bit -- https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/...s-v20/get/

They appear to be working fine!

Thanks,
Don.
