weather loading into FSX, weather following the aircraft
#1
Is their a way for the weather to load into FSX on the free flight page ,, so the weather is already current when the flight is loaded ? ( I hope that makes sense to you)

and

If I do not do a flight plan/ route and I take off from KJFK and just fly North ,,, will the weather load as I fly along ,,, in other words do I need a start point and end point for the weather to follow me to where ever I fly to?

Thank You

For FSXWX to auto connect see the topic "No problems, but a question about startup." page 2 of this forum.

Once connected, the weather loads when the flight loads and updates as you fly even if you change airports or slew around.

You don't need a flight plan. The start and end airports are optional in FSXWX and are for fine tuning the weather along the route, but it still works fine without it.

Thank You for the Reply

I don't want the FSXWX to auto start, I would like it to load the weather like the default weather engine does, so on the free flight page I pick aircraft I pick airport then weather then date and time , click fly now and the real weather loads when FSX loads the Flight,,, the way it is now FSX loads the Flight, I have to wait a few min for the real weather to load

You have 4 main weather choices, you cant use a mixture of them:

1.Weather theme (FSX builtin)
2.Custom weather (FSX your choice)
3.Realtime weather (FSX builtin)

4.Or by using a weather addon for example FSXWX which once loaded will automatically select and create "Custom weather" and updates this constantly, any changes you manually make will be overwritten and ignored when it updates)

You can click on the FSXWX "Connect" at the free flight page. Also on my system the FSXWX weather loads in about 1-3 seconds, once the flight has loaded. This may be longer on slower systems.

So, I dont understand why you would want to pick your weather first and then use FSXWX to change it again. Any weather theme or custom weather you chose previously would be ignored as soon as the real-time weather loads in to FSX.

Yes I understand the choices

if I select FSX realtime weather FSX built in,,,, and then load the flight ,, the weather is their , the real weather is loaded with the Flight

I connect to FSX
with FSXWX I select the airport ,,
Then I load the flight ,,, I have to wait 2-4 min, befor FSXWX loads the realweather into FSX,, I would like it to load the Real weather when the flight is loaded not after the flight is loaded, and I understand FSXWX will continue to update the weather

Thank You
