Distant Fog

When I get around 30,000 ft, there is a distant fog that is really annoying. It also is present below me even though the weather is perfectly clear in reality. Any way to turn this off?

Are you sure that your P3D volumetric fog setting fits to the selection within the FSXWX client?

In case you use volumetric fog, but set the Simulator selection within FSXWX to P3D (i.e. not P3D vol. fog), you will get reduced upper visibilities.

Upper visibility should look this this (varies a bit based on the wx conditions):
