I have learned that you can determine which runway FSX ATC will assign your plane for landing based on the wind direction you set in a custom FSX weather setting. For example, if I want to land at runway 4R or 4L at KJFK, I set the user-defined weather for a wind direction of 40 degrees & a wind speed of at least 8kts.
So my question is... how does FSXWX interact with FSX regarding how ATC assigns runways for take-offs and landings. Are runway assignments based on the current FSXWX real time wind direction at the departure/destination airports? Or are runway assignments still based on the native FSX weather/wind settings?
