FSX Long-Haul freezes

Hello guys,

I've encountered an issue I have read about already a little where whenever I fly a "longer" flight (right now for example: EDDM-HECA), about 2 to 3 hours into the flight FSX freezes for 30s, then works for 5s, and so forth...

Now the obvious short-term solution of this is to close FSXWX when reaching top of climb and use FSX default weather to avoid these freezes.

I wonder however if there are any other solutions to this which hopefully don't involve having to close FSXWX. 
It's such a simple and reliable weather engine and I don't want to let go of it for some other program!

I do not have this sort of freeze ;
Only freezing 2 or 3 seconds when downloading a lot of metar (i.e 600 metars or more)

simply fill in the route details in the FSXWX application, i.e DEP airport, ARR airport and the alternate... this should fix the problem
