P3DWX crashing with volumetric fog

Since the older FSXWX version, I have always experienced crashes or stuttering with volumetric fog on. When I only have P3D running and no WX engine, my system handles volumetric fog without any issues, the sttutering and crash only appears when P3DWX is on and even after it’s been closed, unless I restart the sim. Otherwise I simply love P3DWX. 

My sim is P3D 4.5.
