'DATA initial download failed' Message Anew
#1
Hi!
I have noticed that the weather, since maybe today only, doesn't load with the Sim or Historic options, as it does with the Current only. It displays 'DATA initial download failed'. My base airport is EBBR, Brussels, Belgium.
I have just checked with older saved flights. The Sim option works with anything before March, like, for example, Feb. 25 etc.
Any idea?

That was a scary few days but it looks like everything is back up and running. This makes me very happy. FSXWX is my favourite weather engine.

Hi!

Tending to regulate today March 5th! March 2, 3, and 4 still lacking!
I had seen on the forum that such a trouble already had occurred by March 2016. Some trouble with March???
I'll keep that thread updated with my recentest try

Cheers

Hi!

Looks like it's back to normal. I had just some trouble with no any reference to EBBR ('EBBR added to grid') when loading the weather to the personal saved flight I'm using like a start, from that airport. To solve the question, it was enough to change the date of the saved flight to today and FSXWX charged the good METAR -- and refered to EBBR back. All options further seem to work (Sim, Current, Historic. All in all thus, a excellent free software. It's very useful and realistic and I am referencing it in my FS personal website (check at http://flightlessons.6te.net/tutreal.htm#envir, with also some translation on the site's French side, at http://flightlessons.6te.net/tutrealf.htm#envir )

That the author keep like that and try to make users sure they have the weather they chose :)

The website was offline for a few days at the beginning of March, so there is no weather available for those dates (1-4 March approximately).

"The website was offline for a few days at the beginning of March"

That seems a neat explanation :)
