Winds Aloft Problems in Prepard3d V5
#1
Greetings to all.

I have been testing FSXWX in Prepar3d V5 and despite the fact that in general it works quite well, there are problems with high winds, because it makes sudden changes of direction and gusts that make planes like PMDG (all), QualityWings (787) do constant overspeed.

I have tried all the activated and deactivated combinations of DWC as well as these together with the other options and I have not obtained favorable results.

I have modified the TurbulenceScale in the prepar3d.cfg and brought it down to 0.3 and it does not work either. The gusts and abrupt changes continue.

For those of us who fly with airline trakers such as VAM, SmartCars, FSAirlines, this represents a problem due to overspeed penalties, in addition to how uncomfortable permanent alarms on airplanes are due to that cause.

I would like to know if anyone else experiences these problems and if they have found a solution that they can share with us.

Thank you for your attention.

I just installed FSXWX into V5 as I needed a real weather system for flying on VATSIM and I am experiencing the same issues. Now obviously they don't advertise that it is fully functional for V5 so understandbly there are issues. Most I've read are about the same thing, the constant and often violent shifting of the wind and turbulence at high altitude.

Hopefully a compatibility patch or some other fix is in the making!

Yup, same problem with me.
Makes your aircraft completely unflyable...

I hope the dev(s) will make a patch soon because I really, really love FSXWX.
