High temp at altitude
#1
Hi all, has anyone had a problem with the temp. at altitude? Mostly this great software runs perfectly, certainly better than anything else I've tried. But on 2 or 3 occassions I've had a problem with the temp. at altitude. Once it was in the decent and at about FL260 the outside temp. started to rise and eventially got up to about +63c! And just yesterday at 6,000ft the temp. went up to +73c, causing EGT problems. any idea what might cause this or if there is a known fault? Anything I can do about it?
Other than that; a great piece of software. Keep up the good work.

Hi,
thanks for reporting.
In fact, I had this high temp problem myself a few times. It was an error in the original winds aloft data.
I will implement further data sanity checks to compensate for erroneous values in the next release.
Cheers

I have just uploaded a new version that should fix the high temperature bug.

Can you remember when and where you experienced the problem? I would like to countercheck it.

Hi, the first time I experienced it was in the descent at about FL260 approaching LHR from the north, somewhere around HON VOR. This would have been about a month ago. The second time was last week, at 6,00ft on the DVR SID out of LHR over the Sussex/Kent countryside. This second one was the worst as it gave me off the scale EGT readings and got up to about +73c.
Hope that helps. I'll download the new version.
Many thanks for a truely excellent piece of software.
